Painted on Antique Door Panel
These Whimsical Birds are an Original Folk Art Painting. They are painted on an antique solid wood door panel. The use of this door panel greatly adds to the natural and warm feel of this piece and forms a wonderful frame with painted Leaf and Branch accents. Notice the thickness of the piece from the sideshot. The piece is 14 1/2" x 22" and the door panel is 1 1/4" thick. It weighs 5 1/2 lbs, shipping weight is about 7 - 8 lbs. The door has a carved inset that drops in about 1/2". This painting is an over paint, I have painted over an old painting, if you know it you can see some upraised textures and lines from the previous painting. You can notice some at the outer edges of the top side and bottom side of the white. Also between the two left birds. Customers who have purchased over paints have commented that it adds a bit of interest and mystery to the painting. Pictures were taken in the sun which is shadowing the top and right of the white part. Colors will vary on different moniters but on mine seem pretty true to life. The colors are warm and comforting with an antique feel.
Ready to hang and no need for framing. Signed on front, signed, dated numbered and titled on back.
