I have a fascination with poppies, and their elegant beauty. My interest stems from the architecture of their seedpods. Poppies are the source of opiates, commonly used in medicine and supposedly by such authors as Lewis Carroll. They're the agents of dreams and nightmares, and it may sometimes be said that one rides a horse of terror into the night while using these hallucinogens.
This is among my favorite examples of the powerful and sometimes dangerous relationship between people and plants.
The original oil painting is available, as are prints. Prints are made using archival quality inks and papers, and the paper is also acid free. These limited edition prints arrive signed and numbered out of 250.
