It has been an incredibly rainy summer in 2008. Every year, our family makes a trip to a cottage on Loughborough Lake. Usually by August, it is dry, with the grass different hues of yellow. This year everything was green and brown with sticky mud puddles all over. The cottage is attached to a cattle farm (which you drive through on the way to the cottage), and the hay had been cut but not gathered because of 51 days straight of rain in the area. There is a rough road leading to the cottage which was completely flooded and is featured in this painting.
