'Intuitive Fine Art' mandala!
An 8" Wooden Hoop is wrapped in an intricate method I invented in deep blue & purple on the left to depict the Night Sky with white on the right to depict the Daylight hours.
A background shaped as a fan sets the stage for the Star! Since there was no ‘fan’ shape available, I carefully cut edges to create it (see its back view herein). Stitched on 7 stitches-to-the-inch mesh, the fan expands upward with the 'Rising' colors of the Chakra from the Seat of the Soul in Earthy tones to the Crown Chakra’s Aura & the Etherial colors of lavender & white.
Stitching on back of fan is close to front. I like how it looked on reverse & decided against a backing.
Overlaid at the top of the Chakra & Aura backdrop is a 5.25" Star with a carefully cut out center to reveal the fan's design behind it.
The star is raised with beads from the background & in its center is a Peace Dove wearing harness to represent our 'Harnessing Peace' as a Reality on Earth!
The bottom screen is a 3" round & appears to 'Spin Your Universe' as a 'Chakra Wheel' & is overlaid with a 1" Star in its center & secured with a lavender Fresh Water Pearl.
There are a variety of Crystal & Gemstone beads to include: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Lapis Lazuli, Jasper, Agates, Garnets, Fluorite & Carnelian. Specialty Beads of a variety of styles, shapes & colors in hearts, diamond, oval, flowers & others enhance the beaded strands. Enders include: Crescent Moon, Moon‘n’Stars, Glass Leaf & Small Bells. A bright golden Sun charm graces the Star’s top point!
This project took quite a while to create & was a great deal of fun! At shows, many folks thought it had a ‘Dream Catcher’ quality to it with colors used in some Native American cultures.
