	click images below for alternate view     12th Night Musician & Dancer Maureen W. Clifton In 1978, Dierdriana of the Misty Isles & Kriemhild of Stonecroft (R.I.P.) Co-Autocrated SCA’s Kingdom of the West 12th Night for the last time at a Unitarian Church in Kensington, California on January 6, 1979. During 1978, the West’s populace had exploded & we were outgrowing such halls. We were only allowed 500 people in the Hall & no feast or food in the main hall. In preparing announcements for THE PAGE, West Kingdom’s newsletter, Dierdriana drew pen & ink drawings, one of which was posted before, titled, ‘Hear Ye! Hear Ye!’ The drawing was enlarged for directional signs. In addition, she drew a ‘Medieval 12th Night Musician & Dancer.’ In THE PAGE, that drawing appeared with Holly Bows on either side, so see that additional view. In those days, typewriters &/or hand calligraphy were for some newsletter announcements, so a page from December 1978 edition of THE PAGE is included, as Dierdriana scribed the titles & typed the content. Addresses & phone numbers have been removed. At 12th Night, January 6, 1979, Dierdriana received her 1st SCA Award – a Queen’s Cypher from Queen Verena for her Services to Her Majesty. The event was a success & Dierdriana & Kriemhild were pleased that others were happy with it. The original drawing, ‘Medieval 12th Night Musician & Dancer’ was framed & given to a friend. Dierdriana hopes he finds a perfect place in which to display it – so it can be enjoyed.
