Maya Green is a contemporary painter, graphic artist, illustrator and sculptor.
Maya Green is a full time artist and have exhibited her work in art shows, galleries, personal open art exhibits, and various art Internet sites. Her works have traveled internationally and can be found in private collections, galleries, commercial buildings, hotels, in countries including United States, Israel, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, France, Japan and a number of other countries.
Maya is deeply influenced by indigenous Israeli culture, which is apparent in her use of bright colors and dramatic symbolism. Jewish themes are often depicted in her work. She combines tradition with the Israeli spirit of today. Her sculptures and drawings address the ephemeral nature of experience and memory. Her works have a unique blend of dynamic arts and cultural traditions. Maya’s art is for people around the world who have a warm place in their hearts for the Bible, Jerusalem and the Holy Land. All her pictures inspired by the beautiful sites of the Holy Land cities, the Bible, the art and artifacts that are related to the time of the Second Temple. Maya strongly believes that in Israel, the role of public art helps to express and define the concerns of a common, yet diverse, culture. In a country that struggles daily to protect its inhabitants, art is considered to be a necessity, rather than a luxury. Perhaps it is the distinct style "live for today" philosophy that makes the appreciation of her art more vivid.
"In my work I seek to complement the moments I encounter. I attempt breaking down life to its visual essentials – light, dark, balance, movement, tone. In so doing perhaps I can reveal a new perspective. I enjoy capturing the essence of a moment.
I consider a painting complete when the idea I am trying to express matches the thoughts in my mind. Often this process leaves me naked and feeling exceptionally vulnerable. If somebody, while looking at my artwork gets that special feeling of something personal, I'm satisfied."
