Paragon Terrace - Roman Road Bath #2
David Lewis-Baker
One of Bath's most famous roads. The Paragon was designed by Thomas Warr Atwood (1768-75) and has associations with Jane Austen and other famous figures of the Georgian era. Above the typical (of Bath) raised over 'vaults' pavement on the other side of the road is the Vinyards, known as such because vines were grown on the hillside there until 1738.
